Splunk Add-On Builder: Accessing global variables in validate_input()

Hi Splunkers,

How does one access global variables within validate_input() when writing a TA in the Add-On Builder?

Getting input variables from the input form is done via definition.parameters.get(), but I need to use some of the global variables to validate the input variables.

I have tried using definition.parameters.get() and helper.get_global_setting() but both do not return a value when trying to access the global variables.

Does anyone have any ideas about how to use global variables when validating the input form?

Thanks for any help anyone could provide!

Did you ever figure this out? Just ran into the same thing with AoB 3.0.1.

Unfortunately, I have not found or come up with a solution for this yet.
