Splunk 8.x and aws app python compatibility

Is the Python for Scientific Computing app (https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/2882/) version 2.0.x is compatible with the AWS app? The aws app documentation specifically mentions the use of Python for Scientific Computing app V1.2. Can anyone confirm that on an 8.1.3 system we can run the AWS app using the Python for Scientific Computing app (https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/2882/) version 2.0.X?

Can anyone who upgraded to 8.x and is using the AWS app chime in?
