SNMP Modular Input: How does polling work for this app?

I'm new to SNMP and I was wondering how does your app do the polling ?

Able to share the steps in details ?

Browse to Splunkbase and download the SNMP Modular Input:
https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/1537/

To install just untar it to SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps (or upload from the GUI) and restart Splunk.

Login to SplunkWeb and browse to Manager -> Data Inputs -> SNMP -> New and setup your input stanza to either poll attribute values or catch traps. It is that easy. Here is a blog with some more details:
