MS Windows AD Objects Replacement?

Hi all,

We use the MS Windows AD Objects here. It generates lookup tables of AD users and groups that are used in a lot of our search queries, and gives us access to a clear and easy to understand AD audit log. I've noticed today while looking into an issue with our KV store that the app is no longer available - it seems to have just vanished.

What's it's replacement?

The app was previously archived because it had not been updating since 2021 and the latest version compatibility for it was Splunk 9.4. It appears that the last time it was available was in July 2025.

Its unclear if the developer ( Steve Hogan ) deleted the app themselves or if it was automatic due to the length of time it was archived, although I dont recall ever seeing archived apps get deleted before. I also dont think Steve works at Splunk anymore so perhaps this is why it has not been getting updates. 

Im also not familiar with another app which would do this functionality but hopefully others on here might! Sorry I couldnt bring better news!
