Licensing Microsfot Exchange Splunk App vs. Addon

I have a specific scenario where want to use the Splunk Add-on for MS Exchange, but not the Splunk App for MS Exchange itself. I want to get the data in and be able to utilize it in ad hoc, and might buy the app in the future. I haven't been able to determine what exactly influences the license counter.

Does anyone know, if I only deploy add-on to get data into Splunk, is an MS Exchange license required?

🙂 It is not required. You can get the data from add-on and try your own reports or dashboards.

But dont know whether it is legal approach from Splunk perspective.
