LDAP search command support for Splunk App for Active Directory on Windows

Hi,

Does anyone know if there are plans to support LDAP search commands on 'Splunk App for Active Directory' when running the Splunk instance on a Windows Server 2008 server, and if so when ?

I'm running into exactly the same issue. The infrastructure is heavily windows based and putting in a linux box can be a real challenge in the environment. I've tried the Java SA_LDAPSearch and I'm running into the known issue that was described in the documentation. I too would like to know if there is a plan for rolling out a windows based equivalent of SA-LDAPSearch. Thanks

Hi Dart,

I haven't tried Splunk for Active Directory v1.1.3 yet which uses SA_LDAPSearch but on the v1.1.3 release notes in Current Known Issues it does say that ldapsearch doesn't work on the windows OS and that the workaround is to implement a linux instance.

Saying that I'll give it a go and see how I get on.
