JMeter plugin to run test cases

Splunk Experts,
Has anyone integrated JMeter JMX file that contains test cases and run them automatically and presented test results through Spunk. We'd like to automate this process where we can initiate running test cases included in JMeter's JMX file (XML based) and display test results with Splunk Portal.

Is this possible?

Thanks!

Thanks Damien! I am creating a local environment to test this. I really appreciate it. I will award points as soon as I have implemented this.

Thanks again!

You could quite easily create a custom scripted input in Splunk that runs your JMeter test cases for you (from the JMeter ".jmx" file)

jmeter.sh -n -t my_test.jmx -l resultslog.jtl

And then have Splunk monitor the results log file , create some searches/dashboards based on the result events etc...

CSV format for the results would probably be best : http://jmeter.apache.org/usermanual/listeners.html

And to make it even better , rather than having the results written to a file and monitored by Splunk, you could have the results of the scripted input sent directly into Splunk via TCP. There was a recent discussion on Stackoverflow about this.
