Is there a way to avoid multiple nmon/fifo process running?

Hello,

I've been testing TA-metricator-hec-for-nmon (1.0.9) as part of a POC over the past week and at times I'm noticing there are two separate nmon & fifo processes. One will be leveraging fifo1 and the other fifo2. Seems to happen when fifo_snapshot value is changed in the nmon.conf. Not 100% certain what other scenarios may trigger fifo2 to start-up but it has caused dual ingestion at times. If there were a way to simply kill and restart fifo1 when there are changes as opposed to starting up fifo2, the dual ingestion could be prevented. Any thoughts on that?
