Is Rapid 7 Nexpose Technology Add-On vetted for Splunk Cloud?

Is this Add-On compatible with Splunk Cloud? If so, do you have to install the add-on on a Heavy Forwarder on prem, to pull the data from the Nexpose Server?

Will there be an updated version? It looks like it currently sends credentials in clear text which causes the app to not be allowed in Splunk Cloud.

Splunk Cloud is not supported by the current App. It may work as it uses sourcetypes, but the set-up you mention is not one that has been tested or is currently supported by Rapid7.
