Hi everyone, hope everybody doing great, I have this problem while manually installing the app, When I extract the compressed file unzip splunk-app-for-netapp-data-ontap_.zip in the $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps folder, when I try to restart Splunk iI receive this "Safari Can t Open the Page "localhost:8000" because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy.Wait for a few minutes, and then try again" I use the CLI for those steps and I am sadly stuck on this step even in VMware app install I have the same issue avec the extract can somebody help me? Thank you

Hello,

There are sometimes issues with a direct extraction into the etc/apps folder. Could you try downloading the app into a tmp folder and performing the extraction there? Once extracted, copy and paste the pap contents into the etc/apps folder.

You may need to extract the netapp and vmware apps into $SPLUNK_HOME, as they unpack to /etc

You may have $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/etc/splunk_app_netapp, which isn't going to work. Please follow the instructions listed at http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/NetApp/2.1.2/DeployNetapp/InstalltheSplunkAppforNetAppDataONTAP

Hi @stuff thank you for your answer. I unpack the /etc folder inside the $SPLUNK_HOME(in my case the folder is named Splunk, I dont know if it is a different folder) but after extracting using the CLI my spunk cannot connect to the localhost:8000 and send me the message I previously described
