How to assume an IAM Role of a foreign AWS Account?

Hello,

we have Splunk running in an AWS Account and getting AWS CloudWatchMetrics data from that account is no issue at all. However we have a second AWS Account and i currently find no way to assume the IAM Role of that other Account. Using an IAM User is forbidden due to security reasons.

Of course we are using the standard Splunk App for AWS

Would help a ton if anyone has an idea.
