How can the Splunk Add-on for Cisco UCS be configured to ignore cookies? Self-Signed Cert issue?

Hello Splunk Gurus-

I have an interesting error message from this app and I cannot get past it. This is preventing it from collecting any data from the UCS system. It is throwing this error message:

015-07-07 10:21:57,177 ERROR 140387293320960 - Traceback (most recent call last): File "/opt/splunk/etc/apps/Splunk_TA_cisco-ucs/bin/ta_util2/thread_pool.py", line 180, in _run job() File "/opt/splunk/etc/apps/Splunk_TA_cisco-ucs/bin/cisco_ucs_job_factory.py", line 26, in __call__ results = self._func() File "/opt/splunk/etc/apps/Splunk_TA_cisco-ucs/bin/cisco_ucs_data_loader.py", line 89, in collect_data self._connect_to_ucs() File "/opt/splunk/etc/apps/Splunk_TA_cisco-ucs/bin/cisco_ucs_data_loader.py", line 193, in _connect_to_ucs self._config["url"]) Exception: ('Failed to get cookie for %s', 'internal IP address')

Server and app details:
RH6
Splunk Version
6.2.2
Splunk Build
255606
Current App
Splunk Add-on for Cisco UCS
App Version
2.0.0

I thought it was a cert issue for the service account we are using, so I registered the certs by logging into a server and entering a team email in each of the certs to satisfy the basic requirements.

Is it significant that we are using self-signed certs? Do we need to complete the certs with our own internal CA?

Thanks,
Mike B.

Hi, since this has sat for a few days without getting answered, it probably makes sense to open a support ticket. Since this is a supported add-on, you don't need to rely entirely on the answers site to get help, but can file a support ticket as well. Getting the right certificate and protocol for a secure connection can be rather difficult with the rapid rate of vulnerabilities and patches going on these days, so getting a support ticket going will really help us to understand what both pieces of software are looking for.
