DBconnect 2 or 1 - the same error
Getting an error Unknown system variable 'language' while establishing a connection to MySQL DB.

mysql output for this variable:
>show variables like "%lang%";
language c:\/program files (x86)/\acs sphinx\/server/\mysqld/\share/\english\

There is a bug in the MySQL Connector/J version 5.1.36, when connecting to MySQL server 5.0.x.

If you download a previous version of the connector/j version you should be able to connect.
