Error communicating with Qumulo REST server: Error 401: unknown: Need to log in first to establish credentials

After installing Qumulo on my standalone Splunk server, and configuring the hostname, port, and credentials, I get the following error:

ERROR ExecProcessor - message from "python /opt/splunk/etc/apps/qumulo_splunk_app/bin/qumulo.py" Error communicating with Qumulo REST server: Error 401: unknown: Need to log in first to establish credentials.

Our version of Qumulo is 2.7.8, which is not currently listed as supported. Anyone else seen this issue?
