Delete selected data out of Oracle DB immediately after indexing in Splunk (via DB Collect) - possible?

We use the Oracle Addon and Splunk DB Connect to get data from Oracle db into Splunk. Is ist possible to delete data from the database with DB Connect immediately after Splunk ran the SQL-Select Query to get data in? Our customer wants to delete data from Oracle database immediately after the data is indexed by Splunk. Is this possible via the SQL-Query or some .conf options without deleting not indexed data / data that was not selected by the query?

Sounds dangerous.
It would be possible to make a delete and get query but if something fails during the road you would loose data and not being able to recover it.
