DBConnect on Macos

I am getting the following error when configuring Splunk DBConnect on MacOS:

Encountered the following error while trying to update: In handler 'localapps': Error while posting to url=/servicesNS/nobody/dbx/dbx/install/java

I have installed the JRE (1.8) but I am reading that it might require the Server version, which does not appear to be available for Mac OS.

Is anyone using DBConnect on a Mac OS (Yosemite) that could shed some light on this?

Hi. I tested and work like a charm.
I used the JRE 1.6 provided by apple:

java version "1.6.0_65"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_65-b14-466.1-11M4716)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.65-b04-466.1, mixed mode)

I attached the setup screen after install the Dbconnect app, please double check your current settings.
