Can SplunkBase downloads be end user specific?

Much of our instance is handled by another team. I want a way to test some add on before a full install. If I download something from Splunkbase, will it be specific to my user or does it have to be installed to our Splunk instance itself?

Hi aohls,
no, you can download an app or a TA on your pc and then install it as you like.

Remember that to install TAs you have to deploy them (manually or by a Deployment Server or a Software Distribution tool) and then restart Splunk on the Universal Forwarder.
