Can Splunk Free used Splunk DB Connect?

i.e. is Splunk DB Connect classified as Premium apps?

With Free Splunk version DBConnect app (though listed as premium app) can be integrated.

Steps to be followed
1. Download DB connect App
2. Upload app and restart Splunk.
3. Configure DBConnect ( providing Database details etc)

This app will have some performance issues and functionality limitations with Free version. Database inputs wont be impacted.

DBConnect itself is free. However functionality will be limited by the Free version Splunk..

So what major functionality it actually affected? Basically, my major usage would be "Database Inputs". Thanks for your prompt response!
