Can I use pull integration instead of push for Splunk connect for Kafka?

Hello Splunkers, 

I was reading the documentation for Splunk connect for Kafka and from the configuration it looks like it uses a push integration. 

 

I was wondering if it is possible to change it to pull integration. In retrospect Splunk to be pulling the data from Kafka instead of the other way around. This question came in one of the discussions for onboarding data from Kafka. 

I would really appreciate any input you can share regarding the topic.
