Bundling macros.conf with app

Guys, starting to use Splunk 6.1.4 (we are soon to upgrade to latest). I am creating apps and wondering where I need to place the macros.conf file in order to bundle it with the app? If I create in the UI it seems it is not bundled with the app.

Hi shocko,

put it into the following folder:

$SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/<YourAppNameHere/default

This will bundle your macro in the app when using the splunk package app ... command https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/latest/Admin/CLIadmincommands#Commands.2C_objects.2C_an...

Hope this helps ...
