hmm, I can´t try it out cause I get -- after starting the app, and loading 100% -- an error:
Authentication Failed
What which authentication???
Looks like a redirecting problem, error shows at
https://XXX:8000/de-DE/static/app/dataflare/core/index.html
clicking OK (who means an error is ok?) leads to
XXX:8000
and yes that isn´t a valid adress (no https, ...)
that was on my mac. same error on a linux host (except the redirect to
https://XXX/en-US/app/search/dashboard_live is working)
on a windows 7 installation i can request a license. maybe i test it on my windows pc, but the production system is linux 😞

no sorry this didn´t fix my problem, but you are right it´s a https problem only. after switching to http i can see the host and product id information and the "request license" button, also. so their is no excuse not to start a trial except, time 🙂

I've verified it is the https and SSL on splunk web. Sorry about this, I will have our developers look at this immediately and will notify you when an updated app is available (hopefully tonight or tomorrow). In the meantime, if possible please use http only. Thanks so much for the feedback!
Hi Norbert, sorry this did not work out for you at first try. I am wondering if this has to do with the https authentication for the web service. Can you try switching to regular http for splunkweb to test? I will verify here if we can run on linux using https splunkweb as well. We tested in Linux and Windows, Im not sure if any beta testers used https for splunkweb, it may be a bug we will fix it asap once verified.
