ABOUT your RSS FEED as INPUT APP

roumys

HI i was able to use your rss feed as input to get a couple feeds indexed. I was wondering how to set it up so that it does not index old feeds. Cause everytime it calls the python script and checks the feeds, splunk would index everything and not just new ones, causing it to be indexed again and would have duplicate events.

To sum it upI want to be able to check the feeds once per day and just index the new events.

Thanks.

I think the 2.0 release of the app should resolve this for you:

In version 2.0 and above, you can use the optional rssfeed2.py to avoid duplicates in the last 24 hours. You should only enable rssfeed.py or rssfeed2.py, not both for same feeds! See the README.txt for details.
