How to get an alert when a message is displayed in our cloud instance?

Look at the DMC in your cloud stack. You can create alerts there. If you're wanting to get education on how to write alerts and use SPL, I'd recommend talking to Splunk EDU. They have some classes that would be beneficial to you.

messages like when an indexer goes down , some warning messages.

Basically we want to get alerted when a message comes up in our splunk instance.
