NOTE: This app has been completely superseded by Sideview's 'Canary' app, which is freely available on Splunkbase and which does not require Splunk's 'Advanced XML' systems to run. ( https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/4697/ ) This app dates from a prior era of Splunk, in which it provided key components and tools that made it easier and faster to develop custom Splunk Views and Splunk Apps. Most important are the Sideview UI modules, which offer improved functionality and easier configurability over the equivalent core Splunk 'Advanced XML' modules. Additionally the app contains interfaces and tools including a visual authoring system you can use to create and edit Sideview XML dashboards. Again - this functionality is alive and well but it lives over in the 'Canary' app now. Canary is to a large extent backward compatible to work with views that were built with Sideview Utils.
