Splunk Search

Writing a search that provides information about searches.

My client has asked for a detailed report on their searches. They wish to know things like name of search, whether it's scheduled and for when, is there an alert configured and if so what type and to whom, and of course the search it's self. Can someone tell me if this is possible and if so, point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance.

Start with this:

| rest /servicesNS/user/app/saved/searches

That'll give you literally everything there is to know about a saved search saved in that app for that user. Replace the user with a dash - to get searches shared to that app. See http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/6.1.3/RESTAPI/RESTsearch#GET_saved.2Fsearches for reference.
