Splunk Search

Why did my index search cease and I receive a "Maximum Threshold Met" error message?

There is a small group of people in my office using Splunk on their local machine. Two of us have received this message and can no longer conduct searches on our index. It seems to be a configuration issue as opposed to a space issue as others are not encountering this problem. Any suggestions?
