Stats of a field per other extracted fields in previous step

I am extracting the type of node: "namenode" or "workernode". Then I get the value of another field say "idle time" for both of them.
I want avg idle time stats per min for each type type of node.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!!

What about stats? If i want the stats by nodetype to pipe into another next stage?

I do not understand your question; timechart is a statistical command. I could do the same thing with stats but it will take more commands to do it and not work any better. Did you even try running this command to see what is the output? It generates stats by nodetype and there is no reason that you would not be able to pipe this to another command (except, perhaps, if you for some reason refuse to try to do so).
