SearchSelectLister with HiddenSearch and stringreplace

I see examples for using SearchSelectLister with a HiddenSearch and addterm, but nothing using stringreplace. I have a rather complex search and I need to specify what I want to replace in the search based on user selection. Everything I've tried hasn't worked. Is this just not possible? Or am I missing something?

This sounds very possible. Especially if you use Nicks Sideview Util's Modules to code your dashboard. The app itself provides many useful real world examples on coding all sorts of advanced functionality that is not possible with just the core splunk modules themselves.
