Internet Explorer process using 1.2GB of RAM on my PC to run splunk web

When I log into splunkweb interface to run searches and reports on my PC after an hour or so I noticed that the iexplorer process continues to eat of a lot of RAM, which of course start to slow down my PC. If I close IE it will release the RAM, just wondering why it is such a RAM hog on my PC.

If you have a bunch of searches open and running, it will actively update. This means it will use more RAM. Also, if you leave a window open to the summary page from Splunk 4.x or 5.x, it will constantly update.

Also, measure IE RAM usage doing a bunch of other stuff, and then close it, reopen IE, and go to your Splunk and do testing to measure IE's RAM usage again. Compare the two.

Most modern browsers are memory hogs, so I am not that surprised.
