How to use Eval in Props.conf?

Path Finder

I am using EVAL in my props.conf to create a multi-value field.

EVAL-test = split(test,",")

test = this,that,xyz

If I use an existing field and that field is not a multivalued field will become multivalues with the eval and split command or does it remain as is?

Thanks!

The split just returns a mv field spitting X by the delimited character Y.

If an existing field, say field1 is not multivalued, let's say the values are "a b" or "c d"and you are using split on it, then your are making it multivalued.

raw1 field1
a

b

raw2 field1
c
d

The field will only become a multivalued field if it contains the character which you are using to do the split
