How to make the Search and Reporting app the default landing page for a user?

I have an App landing page which is not working fine. I want to make the Search and Reporting app as the default page .

Edit $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/users/admin/user-prefs/local/user-prefs.conf. For the test user, it would be in $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/users/test/user-prefs/local/user-prefs.conf

Add the following:

default_namespace = search
