How to get BIOS information like temp and power consumption?

I need to know how to get temperature and power consumption of my linux pc. How can I do it? Thanks in advance.

Hi josefa123,

this is more a question about how you get this information on your flavor of Linux: link in Ubuntu you can use can use powertop or lm-sensors to get this kind of information. If you have found the best tool to get the information you need, create a scripted input http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/6.3.1/AdvancedDev/ScriptedInputsIntro to get this data into Splunk.
You can also check out the *nix App https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/833/ to get some ideas how it can be done; there are some scripted inputs in there to get CPU or Memory usage.

Or more simply you can use the Command Modular Input to easily fire off these commands and index the command output in Splunk.
