Splunk Search

How to Join without subsearch to avoid hitting the max result limit?

I tried to join with subsearch but I couldn't. The Splunk subsearch max result limit is under 10500, but I need to return at least 50000 results a day.
How can I use join without subsearch? http://www.innovato.com/splunk/SQLSplunk.html They only show how to use join with a subsearch.
