Splunk Search

Data stored using the collect command takes a long time to become searchable.

Hi, I am using a DBXquery and then collecting the returned data into an index. I am doing this on a search head which is fed from an index cluster. After I run the command (which returns approx 900K results) it takes hours before this data is returned when I search for it. Is this normal and something I will just have to deal with or is there any searches or tips I can use to diagnose a problem?

Thanks

See if this recent question helps.

In that case it ended up being due to site affinity, with events not being searchable by the search head until the buckets were replicated to the local indexer site.
