When one searches a config on Google, e.g. props.conf, the first result is almost always the page you'd want. However, all of a sudden today, the pages don't load and redirects me to https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation.
Here's what I do:
- I Google props.conf
- Top result is https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/7.3.1/Admin/Propsconf
- Clicks on it, but redirects to https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation
Yes, I am logged in. Don't know what's wrong today.
Anybody experiences the same? What's the solution to this? Thanks.
Hi morethanyell,
This seams to be a general issue with the version 7.3.1
, it looks like it disappeared. Just change your link to use latest
instead of a specific version, like this:
https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/latest/Admin/Propsconf
Hope this helps ...
cheers, MuS

yo. thanks MuS. will just have to endure replacing 7.3.1 with latest for the meantime then.
There was an email sent out this morning from Splunk, saying that 7.3.0 had been released?!?
Latest version available to download is now 7.3.0 and not 7.3.1?
What is happening? Very odd.
MuS, use your Fez and find out pls! 🙂
Please see https://answers.splunk.com/answers/771315/where-did-splunk-731-go.html for the latest community postings on 7.3.1.
We unreleased the 7.3.1 docs when we removed the 7.3.1 download. Unfortunately, Google had already indexed the 7.3.1 docs, so the links in Google search results now point to docs that are not currently available.
We are working on restoring everything, and my apologies for the inconvenience and confusion.
We have re-released the 7.3.1 documentation, even though the download itself is still temporarily unavailable. The content of the docs is valid and accurate for 7.3.0 as well, and now Google search result links will point to live pages again.
...and as of yesterday, the 7.3.1 download is available again, patched as 7.3.1.1.
