Clicking an app redirects me to setup instead of search

Hi

I have a custom app, it is a simple app which contains a few dashboards and nothing more.
When i click app it's supposed to open the search page, but it redirects to setup page(which is not available)

what i mean is clicking the app is supposed to open
https://splunk.company.com/en-US/app/NewApp/search

but open
https://splunk.company.com/en-US/app/NewApp/setup
Note: I dont have any view named setup, i am not sure why it is redirecting there.

This was working well in 6.1.4, we recently upgraded to 6.3.3 and we see this issue

Can anyone help me with what might be the issue.

You must check you app.conf, check under [INSTALL] section what you have sentence is_configured = true

You can check your navigation menu permissions, user has to have read permisions over your menu

Check the navigation menus (default.xml under Settings->User Interface->Navigation menus) if it contains any entry to set setup as default home page for the apps.
