incase i am able to configure .logs file but unable to configure .xml files to splunk forwarder
Can you please be a bit more specific in what you tried and how that is failing? You're talking about data ingestion, I presume?
Can you share the inputs.conf (and potential other relevant config) you created to ingest those .xml files?
