forgot my password and username

i forgot my username and passwords and now iam unable login. i dint even find the filepath $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/passwd) so please help me in login to the account

here is one way to set a new password for any user which are using Splunk’s own authentication. https://community.splunk.com/t5/Random/how-to-reset-admin-password-in-splunk-8/td-p/487507
Just replace admin with your account name.
