Splunk 7.1.1 Is the latest and stable version.
However, if you use Data models there is an outstanding issue which you should contract your account manager about.
It seems a solution is very close, and there are workarounds, but they are not publicly documented yet.
If data models are not something you need immediately, 7.1x is a good place to start as it has new features for performing future updates without disruption.
