Is it possible to access to Splunk App scripts/resources in bin or default from Rest API or Java SDK?

It is possible to access the script/resource files located with a Splunk app's bin or default directory from the Splunk Rest API or Java SDK?

I can get the path to the app, however I cannot figure out a way to access the files within the app itself. Is this possible in Splunk?
