I am getting this error in deployment server 8.0.9 and how to make this right :

./splunk reload deploy-server -class (i gave my serverclass name here)

An error occurred: Could not create Splunk settings directory at '/root/.splunk'.

Hello @venkatasri No, I was using this command in the root user itself. One morething we have different zones in our environment like DRN,iDMZ . I can do this command from the iDMZ zone deployment servers but not able to run this one in the DRN environment.

Could be your splunk instance don't have enough permissions or forget to sudo to right splunk user?

I have permissions and i tried with root and splunk user. Not working
