How to forward syslogs from HP Aruba 2930F switch to Splunk instance?

I have a requirement to review audit logs from all hosts including syslogs from a single HP Aruba 2930F switch within a close-loop, isolated network. My Splunk Light instance sits on a physical server which is also the indexer. I have done some research online and issued the CLI command "logging " from the switch but I still don't see logs coming from the switch. Splunk is configured to listen on UDP port 514 for syslogs but still, nada. Any help from those who have experienced this same issue is greatly appreciated. One thing I wasn't sure of after reading other articles, do I need a syslog server set up i.e. Solarwinds or equivalent?
