How to access remote tomcat log files for statistics and visualization of logs on my machine?

I am new to splunk. I want to know how we can get the log files of tomcat which is on some other system i.e how to access the log files remotely on my system. So, I can have the statistics and data of the logs on my machine itself.

To index log files from a remote system you'd install a Splunk Universal Forwarder on that system, tell it to read those log files and to send it back to your Splunk Indexer.

Sorry. Sir as I am a beginner I reallt didn't got how to implement it and as I am using Splunk lite free version will it work with that.
I just want to access splunk on my machine which is working on some other machine
