Splunk Enterprise Security: Why is Workflow Action redirecting to the wrong app?

While I wait our new license I thought I'd ask here...

I have a workflow action to look up an IP via a search string and open into a new window. When looking at a result in Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) drilldown workflow action to lookup an IP, it'll open a new window as expected but will try and return the result in Splunk ES vs the specified App in the workflow setup. So it ends up at the Splunk ES landing page.

Any thing simple I missed?

Ok, I found out what this was and it's the default behavior of ES so it's expected. If you use a workflow lookup and whatever data you are looking for can't be found it'll fall back to ES. The underlying issue is actually that the workflow can't access the kvstore of the target app in question.

The query within the workflow works within the destination app. It's just as it seems in that when the action is chosen, it looks like its redirecting to the destination app and then redirects back to Splunk ES
