Hello everyone,
I modified some of the correlation searches (CS) in Enterprise Security to better match my environment. However, I made the mistake of directly modifying the default CS instead of creating a new CS to modify from a copy of the default CS. This would have allowed me to easily restore the default CS if needed. So now, I don't have the original correlation search configuration anymore. Lesson learned.
So... is there a way to restore the default config for a correlation search? Specifically, the default schedule and search (since I modified both of these). Or, is there a document somewhere that contains the default CS configurations?
Thanks.

Be very careful when doing this, but in $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/SplunkEnterpriseSecurityInstaller/default/src/etc/apps
, you will see all the apps used to install ES. Simply find the ones you have changed, and see if their defaults are located within this folder.

I found the default correlation searches (including the original search strings and the default schedules) in the in the "savedsearches.conf" file in the directory you specified. Thank you!!

I believe that if you have modified the .conf files in the "default" directories, there is no way to restore the original searches without reinstalling ES, which you probably don't want to do, depending on the level of customization you have done.
If you have a dev instance, the best workaround is probably to install Enterprise Security in the dev environment. You don't have to run any of the correlation searches, but you can get their default values there are copy them into prod...hope that helps!
