how to reset the sudo pwd in aws?

Hello,

I have installed splunk on Redhat AWS as a splunk user, when ever i try to view any con files it is asking for sudo password for splunk, even after giving the password for splunk user it is not allowing, how to reset the password pls guide me !

Hi @_Raj 

Firstly, is your splunk user definately in the sudoers list? (/etc/sudoers)

If it is and you need to set the password to it then you might need to reset the password with the following from your ec2-user (or whichever user you usually SSH to)

sudo passwd splunk
