Hi,

can we change splunk managment port(8089) for one of my forwader in web.conf? We are using default port number for all forwarders, but users of a specific forwarder has requested to change the default port number ?

Will there be any consequencies ,If we change this?

You can change the port as required. Only thing is in clustered environment, you must use the updated port whereever required. I.e Enabling search head clustering , or deploying bundle from search head deployer.

You can use any port if you want. If your environment is clustering, this option is not available or you can deploy a exclusive machine for this.

There will be no consequences for your forwarder. You can change it using the CLI: splunk set splunkd-port 9089
