Splunk AppDynamics

Retrieve all metrics in an application via API - specifically custom metrics

Hi All,

is there a way to query the API just to return custom metrics that have been setup in an application/tier/node?

Use Case: We would like to know how many custom metrics have been created per Application and understand if this metric is actually useful and being used. Having 100,000's of custom metrics sitting on the controller is not good practice I would imagine.

We are using a SaaS controller.

Thanks if anybody has an answer or suggestion.

Hi @nicholas.van der heiden,

Thanks for clarifying. If I find anything else, I'll be sure to share it here. If you happen to find any more info or a solution, please also do share it here.

Hi Ryan,

These Custom metrics we would like to identify are on the controller not from a machine agent for example:

Custom Metrics|JBoss|data-source|ExampleDS|ActiveCount
