Create a business Transaction Group based on node

Hi

Wondering if it is possible to create a business transaction group based on node? Reason I ask is that we have 2 legged application (each leg has multiple servers in different data centres) & there is a requirement to monitor the application by site.

I can create a view using individual metrics from each server but would like to roll these up into a site metric / business transaction group.

Thank you

Hi Barry,

As per the current implementation, we can not create a Group directly based on the Application Node. For more details, you can refer the following document -

https://docs.appdynamics.com/display/PRO43/Organize+Business+Transactions#OrganizeBusinessTransactio...

Although, you can use following workaround to segregate the BT name with Node name, then create the Group based on BT name -

  1. You can create the custom match rule to create the custom BT name and split the BT with to use the request Host name in Transaction Names. Screenshot Attached for your reference. once BT gets detected, then based on BT name you can Group the BT.

Please let us know if it helps or you have any question.

Thanks,

Ashish.
