Splunk AppDynamics

Can Someone define what exactly does the Appdynamics coordinator service do?

I do understand it is a service we start when we configure the .NET agent for windows services or standalone applications. But how would you define it and what role does it play?

Hi Rohan,

After successful.NET Agent installation, one windows service will create, name as AppDynamics.Agent.Coordinator, which includes an embedded Machine Agent.

It has the responsibility to download the latest agent configuration from the controller to the respective agent machine as well as collect the machine-related data and then send it to the controller.

Hope it will help.

Thanks,

Ashish.
